For years I was a busy, working mother - trying to do it all and definitely NOT practicing "Self Care" as often as I should have been. It wasn't that I didn't make time for myself, but my definition of "Self Care" was not accurate.
I thought it meant pedicures, massages, and days out with a friend. I didn't think that it also meant caring for my health - physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually.
Perhaps one day you noticed you had gained a few pounds, or you wake up and it hurts to walk, or you realize that you can't pick up stuff off the floor?
Does this sound familiar? Like me you may be living, but not thriving.
I think the worse part was that everyone just felt that it was NORMAL - it was just something that happens as you get older and that there wasn't much that I could do about it! How frustrating!
We can't deny that we are getting older, and we can't stop it, but we can take steps to make our lives production and enjoyable!
