It Started When Both My Kids Had Eczema...
Eczema is just the worst! My son was one and he looked like a burn victim, his arms and legs were covered in painful eczema! It was so sad and everything I tried made no difference.
A friend invited me to an "oils night" at her house. I literally knew nothing about essential oils apart from seeing oil burners at the store. But I had read that tea tree could help with eczema so I went to see what it was all about.
I was SUPER skeptical. Honestly, I wasn't buying the whole thing, I thought no way do I need this stuff, I'll just grab a bottle of lavender from the grocery store. So that's what I did. Guess what? It didn't work and it went rancid super fast (which I now know means it wasn't pure).
So I went back and listened again about Young Living. I got some oils and within a few months my kids no longer had eczema. That got my attention!
So what makes the difference?

My daughter and FPIES
My daughter was born in 2010 and at four months of age we discovered something was very wrong. If she ate even a tiny mouthful of rice, she would vomit until she was unconscious and limp and go into shock. This happened over and over, with wheat, corn, oats, nuts, and soy. We went to doctor after doctor and were told that we were overreacting, that she was fine.
After three years and 10 healthcare practitioners, we finally got an official diagnosis, but by then I already knew what she had. It's called Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome or FPIES. It's a very rare disorder that causes violent allergic reactions.

We have found that working with our naturopath, adjusting her diet, adding in enzymes, probiotics, supplements and using oils such as ginger, fennel, peppermint and more to help her digestion has enabled her to grow and thrive.
Food trauma has also contributed to some anxiety issues which we address through a combination of counselling and aromatherapy to help with sleep and stress. I am so thankful that we found this path because our girl is doing so well!
